You're right. Emotions, like ourselves, are very complex. I want to clarify that hearing our own inner voice isn't itself harmful. I believe mastering our internal dialogue is a valuable life skill, and as you said, it takes time and practice. But some forms of internal monologue in the form of introspection can cause auditory hallucinations that affect our mood and overall self-esteem. Therefore, it is better not to rely on those things too much :)
